Anirvan Chatterjee is the Director of Data Strategy at UCSF’s Clinical & Translational Science Institute. When he’s not using AI tools to save $20 at the drugstore, he applies LLMs to real-world work and side projects, including digital humanities and community history, focusing on practical, responsible use rather than hype.
A little skeptical of AI hype? Join us for a practical, no-jargon session on ways we’ve actually found AI tools useful in everyday life and work. We’ll demo real examples from our own lives, from saving $20 at the drugstore to helping a friend navigate an ER visit. We’ll also share a simple rule of thumb for recognizing when AI is absolutely the wrong tool for the job. This isn’t formal AI training, but it is probably more fun! The session will be interactive and will include time for live Q&A.
